STD stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease. There are over 25 different STDs, some of which are incurable and some of which can kill you.

  • A discharge from the penis or vagina.

  • A burning feeling when urinating.

  • Growths, sores, or itching in the genital area.

  • Skin rashes or sores.

  • Abdominal pain.

  • Dark urine.

  • Yellow eyes.

  • Fever, headache, and nausea.

  • Joint inflammation and enlarged lymph nodes.

  • Many STDs have no symptoms or only very mild symptoms. If you have had sex, it is critical that you get tested for STDs.

Bacterial STDs; such as gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia, are curable with antibiotics.

Viral STDs; such as herpes, HIV/AIDs, and HPV are incurable.

      Death
      Damage to major body organs
      Cervical cancer
      Infertility
      Chronic pelvic pain

When you have sex with someone, you are having sex with everyone they have had sex with for the last 10 years, and everyone they and their partners have had sex with the last ten years.

Over 65 million Americans are now infected with an incurable STD.

Each year 4 million more teens will get an STD.

Each day 22,000 new STD infections will occur in the 15 to 25-year olds.

One in every three female college students in America is infected with HPV (genital warts), and it's incurable. 93% of cervical cancer is caused by HPV.

One in four Americans has genital herpes, but 80% of them don't even know they have it, and it's incurable.

  • Vaccines? No! There are no vaccines against STDs.

  • Condoms? No! Condoms often fail, and STDs are spread by skin-to-skin contact.

  • Doing only oral sex? No! Oral sex is definitely not safe. Many STDs can be spread through oral sex.

  • Birth control pills? No! Definitely not.

  • Having only one partner? No! Your partner may not even know he/she has an STD. Your partner may lie to you about his/her sexual history. Through your partner you are being exposed to everyone he/she has had sex with for the last ten years.

  • There are only two ways to be totally protected from getting an STD. One is to abstain from sex, oral or otherwise. The other is to only have sex within a faithful, long-term commitment; i.e., marriage, with a partner who has been tested to be STD free.
